More About Scouting
What is Scouting?
Scouting is an adventure for the whole family!
Cub Scouts is a fun and educational experience for boys & girls kindergarten through 5th grades which focuses on building faith and character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service.
Scouting gives parents and their children an opportunity to make memories together, while helping kids develop skills and character traits
that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.
The Cub Scout Motto:
DO YOUR BEST!

Additional activities are offered because of your membership in Scouts BSA. Each activity will have its own fee; however some activities are free of charge. Please check the South Florida Council website (https://sfcbsa.org) for a list of activities and registration information.
How Does It Work?
-
Children have fun with others their own age in small groups called "Dens." They play games, learn lessons, see really cool things, and participate in outdoor activities.
-
Dens are organized into the following grades:
-
Lions - Kindergarten
-
Tigers - 1st grade
-
Wolves - 2nd grade
-
Bears - 3rd grade
-
Webelos - 4th grade
-
Arrow of Light - 5th grade
-
-
All the Dens together make up the "Pack." The Pack participates in large group activities such as camping trips and special events on a larger scale.
-
The Pack participates in regional activities with other Packs, giving children the chance to grow through interacting with others, plus playing and learning in an outdoor setting.
-
Pack 143 meets every Thursday at 6:30 pm at:
-
Peacock Park Recreation Center, 2820 McFarlane Rd, Miami, FL 33133.
-
-
Meetings last about an hour. Each meeting begins with a flag ceremony followed by the reciting of the Scout Oath and Law.
-
After some brief announcements, the Scouts break into their individual Dens for their Den activities.
Do Adults Register Too?
Adults wishing to hold leadership positions and camp with the Pack must register with Scouting America and take Youth Protection Training (YPT). See a Pack leader for further details.
